Singing for Haiti

Singing for HaitiTufts student performers were among those helping raise money for Haiti relief efforts at an event co-sponsored with the city of Somerville.

Medford/Somerville, Mass. [03.03.10] On Feb. 18, performers from across the city of Somerville-including three Tufts student groups-came together to take the stage at Davis Square's Somerville Theatre and raise money for Haiti's earthquake relief efforts.

The event, Somerville Sings for Haiti, was co-sponsored by Tufts, the city of Somerville, the Somerville Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club. The city reported raising nearly $6,000 from ticket sales, a silent auction and raffles.

Tufts' student performers included the a cappella group sQ!, step team BlackOut and percussion group B.E.A.T.S. View a photo gallery of their performances:
