Tufts Welcomes The Class of 2005
Medford/Somerville, Mass. [08.29.01] "Now begins an incredible journey!" Tufts' 12th President, Lawrence S. Bacow, told the undergraduate Class of 2005 on Wednesday. The day marked the ceremonial start of their college careers at Tufts. Thousands of first-year undergraduate students and their parents arrived on Tufts' Medford/Somerville campus to move students into their dorms, while new students at Tufts' seven professional and graduate schools began orientation activities and their first classes. This year's first-year students have a special distinction -- they are joining the Tufts community as the University begins a year-long celebration of its 150th anniversary.
