"BeginA New Chapter In Life"
Medford/Somerville, Mass. [08.28.02] "You are about to begin a new chapter in life!" Tufts' 12th President, Lawrence S. Bacow, told the undergraduate Class of 2006 on Wednesday. The day marked the ceremonial start of their college careers at Tufts. Thousands of first-year undergraduate students and their parents arrived on Tufts' Medford/Somerville campus to move students into their dorms, while new students at Tufts' seven professional and graduate schools began orientation activities and classes. This year's first-year students -- comprised of more than 1,300 students -- hail from 46 states and territories and 49 countries.
