Information For Boston Health Sciences Campus
Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001

In light of the tragic events that have taken place around the country today, a gathering will be held for all Boston Campus students, faculty and staff tomorrow, Wednesday, September 12 at noon in Sackler A & B auditoriums.

One of the ways we can help is blood donation. Hospitals in New York have a critical need for blood products that will continue for some time. Blood is now being triaged from New Jersey, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts to New York, leaving those states in short supply as well.

You can help by making an appointment at any of the Boston area blood donation centers over the next few weeks. There is also our annual Blood Drive in Posner next week. You can donate blood once every 56 days, and platelets once every 3 days. Given the level of trauma of many of the injured, there is an urgent need for platelets, which you can donate multiple times within weeks.
