Tufts Music Professor Wins Guggenheim

Medford/Somerville, Mass. – Music Professor Jane Bernstein is among this year's Guggenheim Fellowship winners, the President of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation announced last week.

Bernstein, who specializes in Renaissance music, was selected for distinguished past achievement and expected promise for the future. She competed against 2,900 other applicants for a fellowship. This year, the foundation awarded $6,34 million to its winners.

She joins a prestigious group of Guggenheim Fellows, which include past winners: Ansel Adams, Langston Hughes, Vladimir Nabakov and Henry Kissinger.
