Medford/Somerville,
Mass. – Music Professor Jane Bernstein is among this year's
Guggenheim Fellowship winners, the President of the John Simon Guggenheim
Memorial Foundation announced last week.
Bernstein,
who specializes in Renaissance music, was selected for distinguished
past achievement and expected promise for the future. She competed
against 2,900 other applicants for a fellowship. This year, the
foundation awarded $6,34 million to its winners.
She
joins a prestigious group of Guggenheim Fellows, which include past
winners: Ansel Adams, Langston Hughes, Vladimir Nabakov and Henry
Kissinger.
