Medford/Somerville, Mass. – Ioannis Miaoulis was honored this July as one of the Boston Jaycees Ten Outstanding Young Leaders. He joined the ranks of past recipients President John F Kennedy, Leonard Bernstein and Summer Redstone.

   Tufts' Engineering Dean was selected for his use of innovative research to attract students to the University's Engineering School, as well as his extensive efforts to make science more exciting for students in kindergarten through high school.

   Another Tufts graduate is among this year's 10 outstanding leaders: Mara Aspinall, who graduated in the same class of 1983 with Miaoulis. She is now president of Genzyme Pharmaceuticals.
