Freshman Catcher Plays Like Softball Veteran
After Just One Season, Drake Already Holds Team Records

Medford/Somerville, Mass. – It didn’t take freshman catcher Lisa Drake long to look like a veteran player. Her seven homeruns this season set a new Tufts' record and after just one season she is three homeruns shy of setting a new four-season homerun record as well.

According to the Boston Globe, Drake has had an extremely productive season. In her last five games, she had a .643 batting average, 9 hits, 6 runs scored, 10 runs-batted-in and 5 doubles. She’s also thrown out 14 runners from her position behind the plate.

Tufts softball coach Kris Herman says Drake’s stats speak for themselves. “She’s clearly one of the top players in the conference and in the region,” Herman told the Globe. "She hits the ball hard, has a great arm and plays the game with a lot of confidence. She was obviously a major recruit for us and she’s quickly proven herself to be a big-game college player.”
