Medford, Mass -- Megan Zuckerman, a 1993 Tufts graduate, recently purchased the North Shore Cougars -- part of the Women's New England Baseball League, reported the Boston Globe.

   "Right now, I'm looking at it as more of an investment in happiness than an investment financially," said Zuckerman, who also plays first baseman for the Cougars.

   According to the Globe, investors like Zuckerman are hoping that within the next two years, Women's Major League Baseball will be a reality.

   Jim Glennie, the founder of the American Women's Baseball League, told the Globe that among all the leagues, the teams in the New England league -- which include Zuckerman's Cougars -- have the best chance of going professional.
