Big Issues Surround Small States at Tufts University

No. Grafton, Mass. – Leaders and students representing some of the world’s smallest nations will meet at Tufts University between March 31 and April 2 to discuss strategies to bring their countries’ concerns -- including security, trade, multinational alliances and fragmentation -- to the global stage.

Owen Arthur, the Prime Minister of Barbados and the keynote speaker, is expected to endorse the creation of a multinational insurance policy to help small states recover from national disasters. Other conference speakers will include the Vice President of the International Peace Bureau and a member of the United Nations Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
