"I just had to let you know how wonderful I think your E-News is! As both a parent of Tufts students and as a staff person I appreciate your immense undertaking. It is both visually and intellectually stimulating and a reflection of many hours of hard work on your part. This is something parents of present students will appreciate to make them feel a part of the Tufts community. "

Notable and Quotable

Research has shown that different racial and ethnic backgrounds react differently to certain drugs, but significant studies have proven difficult due to the fact that minorities are severely underrepresented in clinical trials. Researcher Kenneth Getz of Tufts' Center for the Study of Drug Development recently addressed this issue in an editorial to The Washington Post.

African American, Latino and Asian populations account for about one-third of all Americans, but less than one-tenth of U.S. clinical trial participants come from these groups.
