The Tufts European Center at Talloires, France, celebrates its 30th anniversary this month with an event on the Medford/Somerville campus.
Medford/Somerville, Mass. [04.09.08] Over the years, several Tufts students have passed through "the Priory," as the Tufts European Center in Talloires, France, is often known. This month, the university community will come together to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Center.
In 1978, Tufts alumnus Donald MacJannet (A'16) gave the university the 11th century former Benedictine Priory, which he had purchased in 1958 and restored.
On April 17, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Remis Sculpture Court on the Medford/Somerville campus, there will be a 30th anniversary celebration featuring a silent auction of French-themed items and a guest appearance by Talloires hiking guide Bernard Martin.
Below is a selection of photos from the Priory's history provided by Gabriella Goldstein, director of the Tufts European Center.
