Video: The Man Behind 'Amerigo'
Video of Tufts historian Felipe Fernández-Armesto's talk about his recent book "Amerigo: The Man Who Gave His Name to America" is now available.
Medford/Somerville, Mass. [03.31.08] On Feb. 13, 2008, Tufts historian Felipe Fernández-Armesto spoke at an Authors Talk event sponsored by Friends of Tufts Libraries about his 2007 book "Amerigo: The Man Who Gave His Name to America."
Fernández-Armesto is the Prince of Asturias Professor of History at Tufts and the author of several books on colonial history and exploration. "Amerigo," which The Economist called "masterful," was featured on E-News last fall.
The next Friends of Tufts Libraries event is the fourth John Holmes Memorial Poetry Reading, featuring award-winning poet Maxine Kumin, on Apr. 9 at 3:30 p.m.
