On Jan. 28, Robert M. Russell, MD, the outgoing director of the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts, spoke about Vitamin A.
Boston [01.31.08] As part of the weekly seminar series at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts, HNRCA director Robert Russell gave a talk on Jan. 28 entitled "A Twenty Five Year History With the Most Interesting Vitamin (Vitamin A)."
Russell, who is also a professor at the School of Medicine and the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, spoke about the use of Vitamin A as a treatment for malnutrition in populations ranging from children to the elderly and how its use has evolved in recent decades.

Russell is leaving the HNRCA at the end of the academic year after more than 25 years of service there.
"It's been a wonderful ride here for me with wonderful and creative colleagues," Russell said in closing his lecture. "Together, I think we have built a remarkable tradition."
